French madeleines



The french madeleine has been a stable for french children for decades. Their cute shell like appearance make them almost hard to eat because of their cuteness. The madeleine were invented in a Lorraine pastry shop, where a young girl named madeleine would make her grandmothers recipe. Everyone loved them so much that the little cakes where then given her name to them.




Ingrédients :

  • 2 eggs

  • 100 g of sugar

  • A splash of vanilla extract

  • 100 g of flour

  • 4 g of baking powder

  • 100 g of salted butter

  • 50 g of dark chocolate

Instructions :

  1. Mix the two eggs and sugar together.

  2. Add in the splash of vanilla extract and mix well.

  3. Sift in the flour and the baking powder.

  4. Mix well before adding the melted butter.

  5. For the bother into previously greased madeleine tins.

  6. Place in your preheated oven to 200 for 5 min then bake for about 10 min at 180.

  7. Let cool slightly before taking out of the tins and pouring in melted chocolate.

  8. Place the madeleines back into the tin and place in the refrigerator until the chocolate had harden.

  9. Enjoy !

(Makes about 15 madeleines)
