Gougère



If you are looking for an easy and delicious appetiser, the French gougères are the thing for you. Moist and filled with cheese, who could ask for better?




Ingredients :

  • 25 cl of water

  • 80 g of salted butter

  • 150 g of flour

  • 3 eggs

  • Salt and pepper

  • 100 g of shredded cheese


Instructions :

  1. In a saucepan, bring the cubbed butter and water to a soft boil

  2. Pour in the flour in and mix with a rubber spatula on low heat until the dough is perfectly combined

  3. Pour the dough into a stand mixer and start mixing to release most of the heat

  4. Add in one egg at a time

  5. Pour in the salt and pepper

  6. Add in the cheese

  7. Preheat the oven to 220 degrees celsius

  8. Pipe the dough onto a pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes

  9. Makes about 30 gougères
