If you are looking for an easy and delicious appetiser, the French gougères are the thing for you. Moist and filled with cheese, who could ask for better?
Ingredients :
25 cl of water
80 g of salted butter
150 g of flour
3 eggs
Salt and pepper
100 g of shredded cheese
Instructions :
In a saucepan, bring the cubbed butter and water to a soft boil
Pour in the flour in and mix with a rubber spatula on low heat until the dough is perfectly combined
Pour the dough into a stand mixer and start mixing to release most of the heat
Add in one egg at a time
Pour in the salt and pepper
Add in the cheese
Preheat the oven to 220 degrees celsius
Pipe the dough onto a pan lined with parchment paper and bake for 20 minutes
Makes about 30 gougères
